- Name of Department/Office: District Jail, Siaha (Prison Home Department)
- Date of Commencement: 24/April/1977 (open as Camp Jail) and on 6/March/1978 Upgraded as District Jail vide No. HMJ-10/76/17 Dt 6/3/1978
- Works and Activities: To serve the state by keeping in safe custody the persons forwarded to prisons of state. The prisoners are kept in safe, humane, cost efficient and adequately secure and supervised environment of prisons and provide work and other self –improvement opportunities to assist the offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens. The Department has been established to provide progressive and humane care for prison inmates, to professionalize the service and to ensure consistent administration of prison in operation.
