DISTRICT FISHERIES DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

ACTIVITIES OF DISTRICT FISHERIES DEVELOPEMENT OFFICE, SIAHA.

1. To promote and developed Fisheries Sector in both Cultured and Captured Fisheries in the District.

2. To supplement the requirements of Fish Seeds by distributing Fish Seeds to the Fish Farmers at subsidized rate.

3. To supplement Feed requirement, District Fisheries Office distributed Fish feed to the Fish Farmers at subsidized rate.

4. To impart technical knowledge of modern Fish Farming technique, the Department conducted Farmers Training for Fish Farmers at regular interval.

5. Spot Verification and Monitoring of all the beneficiaries under centrally Sponsored Scheme(PMMSY) have been done and carried out since its implementation in the year 2020.

6. Inorder to maintain reliable Fisheries Statistic within the District, the department has always collected data on yearly basis.

ACHIEVEMENT OF DISTRICT FISHERIES DEV.OFFICE,SIAHA UNDER PMMSY SCHEME.

With the implementation of PMMSY Scheme from the year 2020,Siaha District has certain achievement in the development of Fisheries sector under different components as mentioned below;-

1. CREATION OF NEW PONDS;-

41.2ha of New Ponds have been created with the implementation of PMMSY Scheme from the year 2020.

2. CREATION OF NEW REARING PONDS;-

Creation of 12.1ha of New Rearing Ponds have been achieved.

3. BACKYARD ORNAMENTAL FISH REARING UNIT;-

Three unit of backyard ornamental Fish Rearing unit have been achieved.

4. FRESH WATER FIN FISH HATCHERY;-

One unit of Fresh Water Fin Fish Hatchery Construction have been completed at Titlao and the beneficiary is likely to conduct trial breeding from next breeding season onwards.

5. FISH KIOSK INCLUDING KOISK OF ORNAMENTAL FISHES;-

For Promotion of Ornamental Fish Rearing at Home, the department has constructed one unit of Kiosk of Ornamental Fish at department office area and selling of both aquarium and ornamental fish would be carried in due course.

6.INPUT SUPPORT FOR INTEGRATED PADDY CUM FISH FARMING;-

Under input support for integrated paddy cum fish farming 14.5Ha of integrated paddy cum fish culture have been carried out under the above scheme.
