Secretary, Home and DM&R Visits DEOC And District Jail In Siaha

Siaha; the July 8, 2020: Smt. Lalbiaksangi, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Home and Disaster Management & Rehabilitation visited District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) and District Jail, here at Siaha this morning.

She was accompanied by Shri. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and other officials of DC office,Siaha.

The Secretary firstly visited DEOC and inspected equipments and tools thereof for disasters and emergency incidents. Deputy Commissioner of Siaha apprised her of the additional needs of aforesaid equipments and tools for Siaha district.

While visiting District Jail, Smt. Biaksangi spoke to Jail’s officials and urged them to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and integrity in conformity with rules and regulations laid down by the government. She also implored them to make sure that jail inmates turned over a new leaf of life after they get released from Jail.

Accompanied by Shri. Zosangliana, Superintendent of Jail, Secretary had interection with Jail inmates and motivated them to behave well; and promised them to look into and pursue as far as possible their various requests submitted to her. She also set aside some cash from her own pocket for purchasing meat for the inmates.Jail inmates also presented their handicraft items to the Secretary.
