Social Welfare Minister Dr.K.Beichhua Visits The On-Going “New Laty Airport” Surveying Works

Social Welfare Minister Dr.K Beichhua visited the MPWD’s on-going surveying works for New Laty Airport located at about 40Km from Siaha Town.
Minister Dr. K. Beichhua had made a proposal for construction of Airport to the then Chief Minister Shri.Lal Thanhawla, way back in 2015. In Pursuant to his proposal, GoM conducted an aerial survey and preliminary survey in the folowing year 2016 and now surveying works is in the final stage.After completion of Surveying works, survey report will be submitted to Aviation wing of GAD under GoM, and GoM will further submitted it to the GoI for its approval and subsequent execution.
Speaking at the Public meeting held at Surveyor base camp, Hon’ble Minister said “if we expected new big things to happen, we need to set aside our differences based on our party affiliations and other trivial things .We need to come together and put forth all our concerted efforts to the new path that we will embark upon and poise for the responsibilities that will fall on our shoulders.” He also passionately implored the New Laty- Villagers to donate their lands without expecting land compensations from any quarters. so that no slowing down or hampering of works occured, if the Airport project is approved by the GoI and its execution become a reality.
Siaha PWD, EE Er. Lal Thanzuala gave a report on surveying works and informed the gathering public that their final surveying works got delay due to rainy season and “will be completed shortly” he added.
Social Welfare Minister Dr.K. Beichhua also inaugurated, before going to New Laty village, District Level exhibition cum Farmers’ Award,2020 organized by
Agriculture Technology and Management Agency (ATMA) Siaha district, at District Agriculture Office’s complex.
Speaking at the occassion, Dr.K.Beichhua said that comparing with other part of India,Mizoram has one of the most suitable climate for farming and if we were not yet self sustained, then it’s a high time that we did retrospection in our work culture and technology we adopted. He also congratulated participating farmers who showcased their farm products and “I sincerely hope that your farm products will surely inspire others and may God bless your toils and moils abundantly” he quipped.
AH & Veterinary Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Siaha, Fisheries Department, Agriculture Department and Horticulture Department exhibited their products and put on sale as well.
In today’s programme Minister was accompanied by Siaha DC, Shri. Bhupesh Chaudhary, MADC Executive Member i/c PWD Shri.K. Chhuabei, MADC Executive Member i/c Sports, Shri.Beirahmo Syhly, MDC and a good number of officials, MTP(H) leaders and party workers.
