Cleanliness Week Kick Starts at Siaha District

Siaha, October 2 : An opening function of Cleanliness Week was held at Bazar Traffic Point, here at Siaha this morning.

Smt. B. Malsawmtluangi, SDO(S) presided over this opening function and Shri. K. Vanlalthiana, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Siaha graced the function as Chief Guest. In his inaugural speech, chief guest reiterated that the responsibility of keeping Siaha District clean lie solely with the citizens of Siaha District.He also urged general public not confine their cleanliness drives to a week long affairs, nor to outside looks and surroundings a lone, rather “one must have Cleanliness as a live-long habit, and the drive of it, must come from the heart” he added.

As a part of Cleanliness week observance, 1st to 3rd cleanliest will be chosen from various categories. Such as: Schools, offices, Localities Restaurants and Hotels.Essay writing competition will also be held among school students. Best Editors will also be awarded.

District Council Local Administration Officer Pu K. Beingiachhie conducted shouting of cleanliness Slogan by the public. Opening function of Cleanliness week was followed suit by Anti-Plastic bags use Rally from Bazar traffic point to New Siaha, Bazar.
